f***ing pissed with Macbook & its service provider. Damn incompetent sia. Nevermind the fact that they took close to 2 weeks only to change my top casing, and return to me that they couldn't diagnose any prob with my harddisk. It has been less than a month, and now my harddisk crashed! They're just making things v.troublesome, especially now I m so busy. What's more I have to go through the lousy service attitude again..

Finally, my hell week is over.
I felt so drained and dizzy from serious sleep deprivation.

Home doesn't feel like home recently.
My bro checked-in into Tekong.
Somehow, his absence changes the atmosphere.
Just hope that he is doing fine.
My sis allocated me the task to write him a letter of encouragement which he will get to read during his 6 days of field camp.
What should I write??

Rainbow brought me to this yummy ramen restaurant in The Central called 玉.
I thought the food was okies. I super loveeee the perfectly cooked 3/4 egg.
I wish that they will sell it like some 小吃, which I can easily gobble up 5!

We went to some desert shop in Chinatown. Thumb-up durian ice shaving is making miss hongkong. I wana go Taiwan! SOooon please!
Anyway, congrats to Rainbow for the flying colors.

Shuting accompanied to my all-time favourite shop, Daiso.
I wanted to get some rice vinegar for my mum.
She's hooked on making sushi these days, and finished my bottle.
Daiso used to carry it.
A bottle of rice vinegar for $2 is cheap sia.
But no stock! Just my luck..
Haha. We went on to mess around with the Halloween stuff.

P.S: I wish, I wish for a Halloween Party!

Finally, we gave the September babies a celebration.
Most importantly, the 5 of us finally sat down for a decent meal.
I realized we seldom eat together these days.
Anyways, the restaurant is Tampopo at Liang Court.
Girls and guy had ramen.
I gave it a miss because I saw a fresh huge piece of pork "swimming" in the soup.
Luckily, cos I super loved my scallop dish.
It tasted heavenly and had a generous share of scallops.

And satisfying 3/4 boiled egg!

Most importantly, we got free and fabulous deserts (cost $10+) due to some crop up.
We really had to thank S***** & A* H*** !!

Don't think we have the opportunity to go out and chill any sooner.

Met up with Rainbow and Vincent my dear x-colleagues!
I was my first time bringing people to Arabs Street.
Got abit lost.
However, I managed to use GPS to walk us to the destination safely.
Don't ask me how ya.
I had no idea how I manage to use the so-difficult-to-navigate GPS.
We went to Le Cafe Caire (the one I went with Jeremy).
There's veggietarian food so Vin could dine there.

I tried the grilled quails with rice.
The quails tasted good but the portion was unfilling. However, I really love their rice which was cooked with herb and raisin.

I like the wedge too. They were soft inside with hints of herb taste.

We went to Ah Chew for dessert, and I saw San who was tau bao-ing desserts too. Haha.

I am waiting for F1 Singapore GP to start.

I have some comments that F1 is boring. Mmmm. Sometimes, it can be boring, especially I'm watching some streaming without commendatory or commendatory in foreign language. Nonetheless. I am just hooked!

Here're my favourites:

(1) Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari

The 2007 F1 World Drivers's Champion has no chance of winning the championship this season. And, this season is a total disaster for Ferrari. I don't think Kimi will stand a chance on the podium in Singapore. He seems to have trouble performing in Singapore circuit. Personally, I am worried for Kimi's future in Ferrari, given there're many talented new blood and Ferrari's cimpetitve gene. Nonetheless, I still admire Kimi's for his calmness in handling crisis. I hope things will get better next season for Kimi!

(2) Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull Racing

At 22, Vettel has a lot of potential and future in F1. Currently, he is third in the championship table. I doubt he is about to win the championship this season, but the future is definitely bright for him. I will continue rooting for him!

(3)Fernando Alonso, Renault

Despite involving in the Renault's recent race-fixing for Singapore's GP 2008, I believe the two-time World Champion still has what it takes to be champion again!

After setting my mind to go for Singapore GP next year, I am thinking through which day(s) to go and what ticket to buy. I realize I might not be able to go again next year if I am going for Work & Travel! Haissss.. Really, we just can't have everything in life.

We went to Jac's birthday party last Saturday (19/09/09). It was quite a cozy party. Although we struck to our group the whole time, we had fun with the decor, food, pool, monopoly and laughing around. I especially love the monopoly card game. It is faster than the traditional monopoly game, but equally stragetical! I can't wait to get hold of a set of the card. It makes me miss Minds Cafe! Lols. Thanks to Loonsiong for introducing us the game, and Michael for boardcasting the instructions.

I have spent the past week walking around in my human body but my consiciousness was captured by UFO.

1) Wednesday
I spent through the whole of my Forensic Science lecture. Yes! For the whole 3 hours, I was waking and falling back to sleep. I can't believe it! I had never slept through a whole lecture. At most, I doze off and that seldom happens these days. It was definitely an omen.

2) Thursday
My Papollio failed me. I thought after owing a pair of Papollio (akin to Birkenstock), I would never fall again. This assumption remains true until a few days ago. I lost my footing and fell in my school library, and ended up with a bad abrasion.

3) Saturday
I collected my Macbook, and met Van for Jac's birthday party. We had our lunch at one of the heartland mall at Yew Tee. And, guess what? I left my laptop in the ladies! That never happened to me before, so I freaked out. What's worst, images of my sister kept flashing into my mind. Luckily the cleaner found it and dopped it at the customer service counter. Phew.

Just as you thought that's all. I misplaced my phone during Jac's party! We were happily wiping each other out on the pool table, that I forgot to bring my phone along when we headed for our dinner. Luckily when I rushed back to the room, the phone was there.

4) Monday
Currently, I do not have an internet access at home, bcos I am removed from the security list. I am too pissed to ask anyone to add me, bcos I know I will be labelled as troublesome and stupid again. So I was waiting for Monday to meet Elena to school to view my online lectures. I remember my notes, my laptop, even my earphones. However, I forgot about my charger! So it was another unproductive day. *@#&$#

I don't know if I am unluckly or lucky, but I am really tired. I can't wait for study break!

Officially, it has been 13 days I struggled without my macbook. When I sent my macbook to the service centre, I thought I will be more productive without sprees, Facebook and tuduo competing for my attentions. On contrary, I have been so unproductive. Well, I am facing another kind of unproductiveness. I cannot do my assignments without internet! Arugh! Hais, life becomes difficult when we over-rely on technology.

Current term of RWM ended last Saturday. I am kinda disappointed with myself because I missed 3 sessions. And, I didn't manage to convert my mischievous kid attached and bring him to the light side. Nonetheless, I was really touched when they shook our hands to thank us. I guess, it is this little gestures that reminds me not to feel cynical and continue volunteering.

During the last session, I decided to try my fellow volunteer, C, to coach my attached kid, T. I wanted to find out if he could behave differently with a male volunteer. So, I took another kid, A. After completing our work, we went on to make a clock. I asked him if he wanted to draw on the clock face. And, he wanted to draw all the superheroes. I chuckled at his ambitiousness. Despite that, I encouraged him to continue by asking what he could start with.

He said: "I want to draw James Bond."

This time, I couldn't help but laughed out loud. I repeated after him: "James Bond? You know how to draw?" I was doubting that he could do it. I was baffled when I saw what he drew. Look at the picture below, can you guess which is the James Bond he drew?

It is the stickman with a gun. When he told me about drawing James Bond, I was imagining how he could draw a portrait drawing. I didn't expect things to be so simple. I guess, adults always make things complex. Something can be simple, but we choose to use so much of our senses, reasons and desires to look at it.

However, we are living in a complex society. If we fail to analyze things complexly, we will lose out. I guess, a balance mentality is the best. Use our adult mentality to look at things. If all things fail, use our kid mentality to forget about things.

Advertisers can be really "insensitive" these days. Throughout my 10 weeks of internship, I struggled to contain my excitement whenever the TV at the customer service counter showed Singapore Grand Prix (SG GP) promotion trailer. A few months ago, while I was taking the Hong Kong's airport express, I caught the SG GP trailer again. This time round, I was quite set on getting a place in the grand stand. However, with enormous efforts, I managed to convince myself that the money could be put to better use. Mmm, say getting a driving liscene. After all, I don't want be caught in the awkward sitation if Kimi Raikkonen ever offer me a chance to drive his car, and I have to reject him with "Arrr, I dunno how to drive lei." Super dotsss can!?! Lol.

Constantly, I am battling my inner urge whenever I catch the trailer in train station, on bus and on tv. Nowadays, Cityhall MRT station is heavily decorated with F1 rock concert promotion materials that every second in the station reminds me crudely that I won't be anywhere near the thrilling engine noises and the sensational burnt rubber. Last week, I was waiting for bus at one of the bus stop in town. The organizer has displayed the map for the GP's affected route on the bus stop's noticeboard. I sulked upon the reminder of my absence from the actions.

Yesterday, I did not expect this. I wanted to pay my bill via the SAM machine in school. As I was approaching the machine, I heard the familiar "ZOOOOM zzzzOOOOm" noises. Oh no, the machine was playing the trailer. What is this?? Why rub salt on my wound again? The feeling of "So far yet so near" is so annoying!!

Okies, here is Jeremy trying to convince me to swap my drink for his. He wanted to order mine too and enquired about the drink. However, I was faster and placed my order first. Muhaha. In this end, he ordered a Hibicus drink that tasted like my mum's chinese med. Keke. Sorry dude! =p

We went for deserts at Ji De Chi. Kai pointed out the hilarious name when we were in JP the night before. I didn't pay much attention to it. But they really have satisfying deserts! It kinda reminds me of my days in Hong Kong, when the 3 of us went for deserts every night!

Good durian paste with sticky cake. I want to bring my family go and try one day, especially my bro! Poor chap, he is serving the nation soon.

On Saturday, I watched Coco Avant Chanel with Sabby. I was attracted by the title of the movie, which I think it v.smartly derived. So, I booked Sabby 2 weeks before! Haha. KS ks.. The show was quite slow but it is thought provoking. I begin wondering what kind of attitudes are we adopting when we purchase or even think of owing a designer good? Personally, I take liking towards certain designer good because it is fashionable or I am purely consuming an image. But how much do we really understand about the brand, designer and concept beyond the physical item that make the designer popular and his or her product costly?

I am going to sending my macbook to the service centre again. Recently, it starts to make some noises as though as I am in the middle of a F1 race. This is scary. I don't want my laptop to crash when I am rushing for FYP. So I am back-up-ing now before I sent it to service centre. I FEEL SO DAMN ANNOYED. My external hard dish isn't co-operating. It doesn't allow me to transfer anything in, saying that I don't HAVE THE RIGHT TO MODIFY IT. What the hell? What freaking right?? I only know that I spend hundred over dollars on you, so I definitely have the right to modify you!!! Hais. Sometimes, I regretted using macbook. Bcos I know if I am using windows, at least I can get my bro or blood sis to help me. And, I know I can always rely on them. =)

I am feeling quite disoriented & unmotivated recently. I want to do "good", but "good" seems to be unachievable (for me). I start to wonder: Is there really a "good"? How "good" is "good"? Why is "bad" not "good"? See, I use "" for good and bad because I cannot define what exactly is this good and this bad. Mmm. Am I making any sense here? Haha. I am one hell of a disoriented child.

Meeting up with friends really keeps me joyful. I met up with Shuting on 24th after I submitted my FYP proposal. We wanted to go to the Disney Cafe at AnchorPoint but it creased operation liao. So we went to Ikea for a mini feast, and had fun making fun with our food! Here's some picture:

I was reading up about history of Holga camera yesterday. Holga camera first appeared in Hongkong, and later on became popular in China. Its original intention was to provide the working class an cheaper alternative to photographing. Western photographers began to use the camera for its surrealism and impressionism. I am v.excited! Yesterday was my first day going to school. And, I saw my secondary school friend, Kelvin in NTU yesterday. And, on my return journey, I saw my cousin! Gassp!! She is in NTU too. I thought she choose NUS in the end. I am super thrilled by their presence. Lol. My cousin stayed next block, and Kelvin stayed around my area. You know, no one in school ever shared the same journey home. Now, I have people accompany me home right to my doorstep (well, at least close)! Haha.

I am addicted to Peanut Butter & Jelly toast. Most morning, I will wake up happily to my toast. I will spread a thick thick layer of peanut butter & jelly on my bread and toast it. I like the crispy crust formed on the butter and the soft inside!

Yesterday morning, I woke up to my usual toast. Halfway to the noon, my stomach developed this endlessly uncontrollable urges to go to the loo. Each time, the output was watery. It was terrible especially I had to go for tuition at night. Imagine bearing with the urges, and nagging at my tutee.

When I reached home, I craved for my favorite toast again. While making my toast, I smelt something weird.. There was this sour smell. I was puzzled and went around sniffing. I discovered nothing, so I headed back to complete my toast. The smell got stronger, and I sniffed my bread. GOSH! The smell came the bread. I realized I had eaten moldy bread in the morning. No wonder the endless shitting. Next time, I need to sniff my food before I eat! Haha.

Anyway, I am stressing over my Final Year Project (FYP) proposal. I don't know which topic to zoom in. A few days ago I was stressed until I was cranky. However, my blood sister told me something inspiring. So now, I am trying to 正在化压力为力量!! Haha. Thanks SIS. I am in the process of completing my HongKong post. So look out!

Woke up late today after a tired (but fulfilling) day. 10.30am, the time was.
Went for a shower. Stepped out of the bathroom at 10.45am.
Realized that I might have Add/Drop today.
Went and checked the subject registration schedule.

Indeed, I was scheduled to register at 10am to 12.45pm.
I was already late 50mins late. And, my Firefox jammed up whenever I went to STARS. I tried endlessly to go into the system and gave up!

This is the second semester which I did not do my add/drop! Din get to enjoy the privilege of being a Year 4 student AT ALLL. Damn pissed!! Roarsss.

NDP Preview

Francis gave me a pair of tickets to NDP preview. I'm really grateful to Francis cos I love to go to NDP. Haha. I guess, it is the only time I feel that we are united as a whole, as Singapore.. I realized it has been quite awhile since I last said the pledge and sang the national anthem. Perhaps, we should find a way to do it more often? Haha. Thanks to Kai also, luckily she managed to make herself available for the parade!

Anyway, I love this year's parade. There're surprises and I love the creative usage of the stage. But the firework display was not really spectacular. I suspect it was only a preview, hence they limited the display. Anyway, here's some pictures.

Kelly's Hen Party

Kelly is becoming Mrs Anthony sooooon. We held a hen party for her on Saturday (1st August 09). But I did not expect the gang to be so crazy! You will see what I mean.

After their KTV, the gang went to Fashion Bar at Clarke Quay. The bar is full of bling blings and has elegant chandeliers.

For this part of the gathering, we celebrated Ronald's birthday.

Vicky's Farewell!!
Had a farewell for Vicky (the temp staff) at my workplace. We went to S11 next to AMK Hub for Stingray (woooooooohooooo!!!) before we headed to Alley Bar in town to chill out. I realize working adult like to drink alot sia. They drank beer at S11 and proceeded to red wine at the bar. Mmm, trying to drown their sorrows? Will I be like them? Haha. Here's the picture:

I always tried to escape.

My name tag, which I wore upside or forget to wear (forgetting to wear is a hell serious violation there). Miss wearing it though. Hais, I have so much craps to wear here. But I am trying v.hard to squeeze out 2k for my report. How?

BACK IN ACTIONS!!!

My internship is over!

It feels really weird that I woke up this morning to the sounds of peace, rather than the rush of human traffic. Miss the people back there already. Different emotions are playing simultaneously. But, I am going to stop dwelling on them bcos this is life. When there is gathering, there bounds to be separation. Chapters in the story will have to end. The important is its quality of the memories we shared!

Okies, I am lazy to type anymore! Becos I have sooooo many reports (about 6) to type at the moment before I leave for HongKong. SIANNNNNN dao okies!

It has been quite a great week for me. I feel quite pleased though I am tired. Haha. The reason being:

1) My Results.

I thought I would do badly this semster. Thank god, I did better than I've expected. I've learnt that I definitely need to work on my time management skills.

2) My First Recruitment Drive.

Finally, I helped up in a recruitment drive. It was quite boring cos we didn't expect many sign-ups. I guess that was why my supervisor let me take charge of that. Haha. Nonetheless, it is refreshing to try out new things. Took some photos to kill my boredom.

I have never fancy Twisties at all. I don't like the bitsy residue. But I love the latest addition to the Twisties family! The Wa-Wa-Wasabi Twisties! (The green one) One of my colleague, Siti, wanted to try it. I tried too, since it was wasabi flavor. I am a sucker for spicy stuff. And, the rest is history. I fall in love with it! Wooo, it stimulates my tastebuds, my nose (i think you can clear your nose with it if you have block nose). And, the best part is it keeps me awake and warm. Haha. Totally suitable for a day of data entry in a cool office. Try it, try it! And, let me know if your like it. Oh ya, I've tried the other flavor, and found it to be average only. Perhaps it is me..

Today is my first off day from my internship. It has been 4 days, and I feel like I have been there for a months (high 5, Van). Work is getting dull. Perhaps, I am still unsure of the operation there, so I am assigned the admin jobs. Hope that more interesting stuffs could come in soon. Else, I really dunno how to write my report. Haha. Colleagues wise, they are quite okies. My colleagues are quite easy-going. I am starting to talk craps to them. Haha. My supervisor (on-the name) and direct supervisor went down to fetch me from the HQ. They even pushed back my working hours after considering the distance. I was stunned by the privilage of an intern. Lol.

Anyways, I spent my first off day at home. Consider that I hadn't been seeing my family much these 4 days, I suddenly missed home. Haha. Furthermore, I wanted to rest, sleep and slack! Keke.

My mother brought my cousin to our house. Cos both my grandma and cousin shiyun are sick She wanted to give my grandma some time to rest. Since I was at home, I took charge to be the babysitter today. And, oh man. It is a tough job! I think cousin shiyun hasn't seem me for some time or wat. She got so excited and kept calling me. She opened up the drawer, took the items out, and would call me "Jie, jie" to show me one by one. I played "ball" with her. The "ball" is some furry ball that will light up with you throw it. So she enjoyed throwing it to the floor, and waiting for me to pick up for her to throw again. My poor back! Haha. Being a mother is not an easy job afterall!

It is May, and I received a Christmas gift from Ah Kai.
Haha. Okies, it is not 2009's Christmas gift, but 2008's. Nonetheless, it feels good to receive a gift in a melancholy May. And, my snow globe count reaches 17! I am beaming with joys when I check out my globes! Thanks, Kai! Muacks!

Finally, I have met up with Desmond after more than half a year promising to meet up.
My sincere apology, Des! We went to Emperor Kangxi exhibition at Asian Civilisation Museum. Couldn't take photos but I enjoyed myself. I found myself full of admirations for Emperor Kangxi and touched by the love between Emperor Kangxi and his favourite grandson, Emperor Qianlong. Really appreciated Desmond's companion. I guess no one would want spend his or her previous off day in musuem? Haha.

I realize I fall in love with museum after I took this module about history. Haha.

It wasn't a scorching hot and sunny day cos it rained in the morning. Furthermore, we were sitting under the shade. Some of us still got sunburnt! For me, my back wasn't sheltered, hence it got burnt!Perhaps, bcos of the recent X-Men craze, I felt compelled to prove that I am a loyal fan. I got myself a X-Men tattoo. See the huge (and painful) "X" over my back? Well, it is damn ugly now. The skin is peeling and the red becomes dark brown. My sis's bf said I look like a malay from the back cos I am really tanned behind. But a Chinese from the front..

Met up with Elena today. Real long never see her sia. We went to Picturehouse for a french movie called Magique. I found the storyline to be average, but I love the singing and the little part-and-parcel philosophy about life!! Really enjoyed myself! Haha. Thanks, Elena! Muacks muacks.

We had too much food! I feel so bloated. I headed straight to the toilet to poo poo after I switched on my lappy for F1. Ooh! On that topic, it was disasterous for Ferrari again! Before I even caught a glimpse of my favorite F1 driver, Kimi retired from the race due to car failure. What the hell! I have been waiting for 2 weeks sia. 2 painful weeks lo.. Hais.

Massa was doing well until the final few laps. Until, (unbelievably) he did not have enough fuel to complete the race! In the end, he was forced to underperform and drop from 4th to 6th. Cannot believe that Ferrari will make this kinda mistake sia!! Damn jialat siaaaaaa, can! Massa oso damn unlucky la. 1st, the hose incident in Singapore, now this in Barcelona. Poor thing.. I think Ferrari's stream of bad luck will still continue. Nonetheless, my heart will be with Ferrari, even though they fell from grace. Maucks maucks the red car! On a brighter note, Alonso and Vettel did a good job! Cheers...

Exams are still in progress for me. I know of a few friends who waved temporary and even permanent GOOD BYE to exams. But this time round, my exams are so drama.

My finance paper was a killer. Normally we count the number of questions we don't know how to do. For this paper, I had to do the reverse: Count the number of questions I know how to do. After the paper, there were a lot of cursing and swearing. Keequan commented that he felt the paper was for a completely different modules. That is how terrible it is!

My history paper was better. The hint that coverage would be "heavy in the middle" helped me pull through the paper. Most of what I had studied came out. Heng sia. Cos I spent too much time on finance and neglected my history!

For my core paper, Prof. Patrick Williams gave us super reliable hints! And, I ... I don't know what's up. My mind processed so slowly. I DIDN'T FINISH IT! Anyway, I had a dream relating to 217 last night. I dreamt that I would take his Deviance module (assuming that he had one). The lecture was overcrowded that students surrounded me from everywhere and anywhere. And something familiar tracked my memory of 217 lectures: THE smell of ASK's Sausage MacMuffin. HAHA!!!

Okies. Going to another topic now. I am crazy about Lady Gaga these days!! Her songs are okies, just that it is not my genre of music. I like her songs like "Poker Face", "Just Dance", "Brown Eyes" and "Wonderful". But it's her dressing that make me go gaga about her! They are like so avant-garde. It might sound misleading but I love to look at her. HAha.

When I was studying Business in Ngee Ann Poly, my lecturers used to show us a lot of creative foreign advertisements. So, are the lecturers in NTU. I thought to myself, "How come all these advertisements are so creative and hilarious? Why the ones we watched on free-to-air TV are like san-dian-shui ones?"

Recently, I must admit that the standards have improved. There are a few advertisments brought grins. Here are two that I particularly love. They are not meant to tickle our funny bones but to touch our heart and remind us of the familial values.

"My father was a generous man beyond his means. But the greatest gift he ever gave me was the gift of love."

This is a TV commercial for Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS). And, it won MediaCorp’s Viewers’ Choice 2008 Awards for local category.

Here come the next one that never fails to make me stop, watch and ponder.

= The BBQ that started at 10pm =

This could well be the most unforgetable BBQ I ever had. The reason being?? You will apprehend soon.

We had a BBQ celebration on 4th April to celebrate Seow's birthday in advance. YS reached West Coast Park (WCP) at 5.30pm to collect the food. While the rest of us were late. Kai, Ivan and I reached at 6.30pm. YS had started working on the fire.

While YS was working on the fire, we waited impatiently.

Even the food was waiting to be eaten!

However, the charcoals were so stubborn! They refused to burn! Even after Ivan, Kai and Seow (who disclaimed that he was waiting to be served) tried to fan and fan!

Eventually (around 7.30pm), we went out of starters to try to relight the fading flames. Luckily, Jack was bbq-ing in a pit nearby. So, I went to borrow some starters from him. In the end, he was so kind to send his expert friend over to help. The expert recreated the "formation" and told us that our charcoals were of good quality. All we had to do was wait. So we waited, waited and waited! At 9pm, we thought that something was seriously wrong.. In the end, we decided to check the charcoals! Finallllly! At 10pm, we received our FIRST spark of hope!!

We were elated. After so much turmoils, we finally got to bbq! While, our neighbours were packing up. From 6+ to 10pm, it was definitely the longest fire starting ceremony for me.. If we were to have a "moral of the story" conclusion like Tan Ah Teck, I could say the following:
"Expensive doesn't mean Quality. Got brand doesn't mean GOOD la!"

With the charcoals getting redder and redder, our spirits lifted. And here come the.. Sparkling Juice!

So, my lesson for the semester ended today at 12pm. I feel quite sad, even though this is not my final semester. My socio lecturers are wonderful people! I am really touched by their enthusiasm to impart their knowledge to us. On Tuesday, my Sociology of Emotion lecturer, Prof Kang did a slide with quotes from some of my fellow coursemates' term papers. She even added music, light-heartiness and wished us good luck for the exams. We were all touched! Yesterday night, while typing my final journal, I recalled about the course of learning for my Social Psychology. Out of nowhere, I feel like crying. Haha. Then, during my Social Pyschology lecture today, Prof. Patrick Williams gave us quite useful hints in such an innovative and hilarious manners. I doubt anyone fail to catch it! Perhaps, the "near" is approaching. And, we are seeing that piece of paper (soooon) that we first embarked on this journey for. Despite of the pragmatic motivation to begin this journey, a lot happened in the process. We learn, we grow, we mature. There's pains, there's fears; of course there are joys. Every bits and pieces of emotions, knowledge and memory, nonetheless remain with me for goods! Okies okies! I think I cannot type too much about this, else Gradution I will not have much to write (but just copy and paste). Haha.

Our First HSS Exam Package in NTU!

Haha. Nurul said that we were lousy. Indeed! We were too lazy to queue up. So most of the times, we only watched people pass with the goodies bags. This time round, the queue were shorter. And, we managed to get them. CooooL!. On top of the package, we got macnuggets and orange juices for our lunch! Denise, Esther and Van even got the HSS tee. I must say the tee is quite attractive!

My Saturdays are full of kids.. Morning will volunteer with RWM, and afternoon will be tuition. I told one of my fellow volunteers that it can be a pain in the ass sometimes.

Well, like my tutee. HE FAILED HIS ENGLISH TEST! I have been drilled him hard on the "He is, She is, They are", "To, behind cannot put s, ing or ed" kinda grammar for the past few months. Every lesson, without fail, I will be pointing out these kinda mistake to him. It is getting frustrating that he still flunked his test.

But I am not giving up. I understand that it is hard to notice this kinda mistakes especially you are not growing up in a primary English educated family. I make these mistakes now and then too. Surprisingly, I am even more motivated to work something out, and become even more firm on him. Furthermore, not all news are bad, he did quite decent for his math test though. And, he has been keeping up with his homework (quite regularly at least).

Not all pains in the ass are nasty. I guess the thought flashed by as momentarily expressions of helplessness. Besides, "pain in the ass" is too harsh for such innocent and cute creatures on Earth. If they're pains in the ass, I think it's the kinda pain I wont mind it to linger there.

Undeniably, my tutee sometimes cheered me up with his silly antics. The kid attached to me for RWM is so CUTEEE. He is the kind boy boy whom you wana pinch his cheek and sueak: "Kawaii nia!" Initially, I really couldn't make out what he was trying to say about 99.99999999999% of his conversation with me. I was frustrated, so was he. He had to explain 2-3 times before I got it. And, there are even high chances that I didn't get it too. When I asked him to read, he didn't want to. So I had to read to him, which defeat the purpose of the programme. I guess, as we got used to each other's style, we are getting comfortable with each other. I could make up about 70% of his speech. And, he gives me face and read! It is a great sense of satisfaction.

When Miss Wong announced that we have 3 more weeks left. I feel a sudden sadness. Although I wasn't close with the other volunteers, we are slowly closing up. And, I feel that we had greater agency in determining our interaction with the kids. Miss Wong also tried to engage us in the preparation and the kids' conditions and progress. Somehow, everything seems less surreal. I don't know. Perhaps, it is because I prefer dealing with kids and be surrounded by the childish innocence, which I wish I can return to again.

In one of my all-time favorite movies, "Under the Tuscan Sun", one of the characters said something like this that never leave my mind: "Never lose your childish innocence. It's the most important thing." Until today, I am still thinking how can I not to?

mmmm. I am tired. My eyes are dried. My eyebags are throbbing as if they are balloon building up with tension and threatening to burst. My pores are screaming to me, "Go to sleep! We need to sleep!" But I still can't sleep. mmm. I don't have alot on my mind. But my brain feels heavy. Something worries me but I dont know what it is. The race in KL tml? Mmm, not really. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

So, at 5.40pm, I messaged her that I left my laptop in the washroom. By the time I went back, someone took it. As usual, she called me. I was in lecture so I did not pick up the call. I kept waiting and waiting for her to reach home at 6pm, find the message on my laptop and call to scold me. At 615pm, I could not wait anymore. I called her. BUt that shotbird girl, she didn't even notice something was wrong. I asked her to check the our bedroom and called me back 5 minutes later.

Within 30 sec, I got a call from her! Haha. She realized it. She was laughing and scolding me sia. She said she was quite angry! Because she was typing this email to Apple to get my IP address so that we could file a polic report. Luckily, she did not send it out! Thank goodness, the prank did not go out of hand.

Today is a terrible day. First time in my University life, I thought of handing up my essay late. I was worried that I could not finish it. I even brought my laptop and typed on the bus. Luckily, I managed to type my last word at 3.30pm. The essay was due at 4pm. See what I mean ?

That's not all. After we handed up our essay, Denise, Van and I stood outside the HSS office for 1 hour to contemplate what final year topic I want to work on. It was horrible. We were forced to make a decision because time was running up. I didn't even feel good after I submitted the application form to the secretary in-charge.

Then I wonder.. Why do I keep worrying so much? Is it innately a female nature? Just like the essay I handed in today. I was worrying about this aspect and that aspect. I ended up feeling so frustrated and stressed up. As a result, I only completed 20% of the my work this morning. And, I had to sequeeze out the remaining at a super fast speed. So, I guess over-considering and worrying are not just unhealthy but unproductive too!

So next week, it is another stressful one. Perhaps, it will be even worse!

Finally went to the Peranakan Museum. It was a excursion for my history module. And, most importantly, it was my first excursion (perhaps my last and only one) in NTU. I love the museum! The interior design of the building is so feminline. I love I could stay there. I wish I am a Peranakan. I love their culture. Simply splendid!

The peak period is here again! I don't feel like doing anything but sleep. This semester is really tiring (most probably because of my lousy timetable). I know I have to press on, and I am. So, I pray that things will sort out as days progress. Hope I won't flunk my electives. Hope I get to do my PA.

Things are very simple. Don't know why have to make it so complicated. Thought everything would be back to normal again. Now I sense something is going to happen again. Neverminds. Sometimes, it is better to left it to fate.

Jia you! There will be another beautiful rainbow soon, after all the struggles and hard work!

On a brighter note, I am so touched by my family's concerns. After the second dead case in NTU, my mum told my sister to pass me a message. She wanted me to know that I should just do my best and not push myself too hard. My grandma too. My sister told me that she will be really sad if I committed suicide. Haha. Many many years ago, that thought did surfaced. However, I grew to learn that suicide is a form of escapism. The problem might end for me. However, I am creating greater problems and sorrows to the ones I love. I don't think I am able to forget myself for that. So, let's not escape, and try to work things out ya!!

Esther wrote an entry about favorite childhood toy. I can't say much about it because my mum didn't really get us much toys. Cos she didn't like us to play with toys. Haha.I bugged her for awhile before I got a Polly Pocket. And, when I was in upper primary, I got my first and very much-anticipated barbie doll! But but, my siblings and I were more into games! One of our all-time favourite has got to be MONOPOLY! We played all type and kind of monopoly. The real version, the pirated version to the software version where we could bombed the hotels!

Two weeks ago, my sister and her boyfriend brought one of the latest versions of monopoly. This version reflects the latest trend in our society: Globalization and Automation.

There are different cities on the board. Online voting was carried out some while ago to determine who would appear on the board games. Sad that Singapore didn't get "on the board".

Instead of cash transactions, we use credit cards!! Guess, paper is out; plastic is in.

Haha. Four of us got into jail during the same round!

Shuting met up with me to celebrate my birthday! We went to bakerzin since I hadn't try it before. I tried their macaroons with my sister. They are good, so thinking of trying their food. Kinda disappointed with their main course. In my opinion, their pastries are more worthwhile.

My birthday cake!

My gift:

My 16th snow globe from Shuting! She gave me a cow cos she thought that my chinese zodiac is cow and it is our moo moo year this year. However, I was born before Lunar New Year. So I am effectively a rat. Nonetheless, the globe is interesting. There are 3 rings can flow around. And, one fixed to the cow cow's arm. We tried for quite long to guide the rings to the arm, and we are still trying now!

I am exicted as I'm going to witness the digital "1" changes to "2" sooon! Ting said next time she doesn't wana give me globe next time round. This was what happened. She asked me to guess what's the gift. Given her track record, I knew it is a snow globe. So, I just spoke my mind. She said giving me snow globe lacks of surprise, will try to change it next time. Sob.

Anyway, BIG thanks Shuting! Jia you for your project and exams ya. I will be waiting for you for a lots of funnns! HUGGS!

BBQ with sister and her colleagues.

Went to a BBQ gathering organized my my sister and her 3 other colleagues, Eileen, Sharon and Mark. The whole thing was held at the appartment rented by the company. There were a lot of food that day; more than we could fill up our stomaches.

So, this Mark, who was trying his best to start the fire. Oh, Mark is an Arab. He grew up in America, and have been to many countries. Envy him man.

My favorite dish of the day was this Arabic salad made by Mark. It looks all green and yucky right? But it tasted real delicious! The hints of sourness stirred my appetite, and I had 3 serves! What's more if you eat it with bread, the combination is completely irresistible!

There was also this mashed potato with cheese made by Eileen. I love mashed potato. I love cheese. So, I really loved this dish. Though I was full, I couldn't stop myself for another go! Mark also brought this super huge tiger prawns. He marinated them with garlic, and they tasted fresh and juicy!! Yumm yumM!

Along comes the liquor! Mark is a great drinker, so are Eileen and Sharon. But their main goal was to drunk Mark. So, my sister poured a lot liquor for him. In the end, we proved that the following formula is accurate:

" increase liquor + reduction in mixer = nonsensical chatters "

The girls also taught Mark some mandarin, since Mark wanted to learn some. However, Lesson No. 1 started with vulgarity. They asked Mark to pronounce KNN. Normally, we will scold KNN in a harsh and irritated tone. It was really hilarious when Mark said KNN in a polite tone.

I think women can be evil at time, and it happened that Mark really met his match. The girls pushed him into the pool!

Met up with ChaiHong on 20th Feb'09 . She wanted to pass me my birthday gift. I got a cute notebook. It's so swweeeet. Thank you so much! However, there is something that I don't understand: Rainbow, why do I give you butterfly?? Haha.

We wanted to watch "Curious case of Benjamin Button" but the timings were kana sai. So we changed to "He's just not that into you". When we reached Cineleisure, the tickets were sold out for the better timeslots. Sadded la. In the end, we watched "Valkyrie' instead.

In my opinion, the show worths at least 3.5 thumb-ups out of a 5. It was based on an final attempt to assassinate Hilter in Germany during WW2. Some Germans were losing faith in Hilter and sought to stop him before he brought Europe and even Germany to demise. This team of army officers derived a plan: First, they would assassinate. Then, they would use Hilter's own emergency plan called Operation Valkyrie to control the country. So, it's like they were trying to to outsmart Hilter. The plan almost succeeded but luck was with Hilter.. blah blah blah.. Want to know what happened?? Not going to tell you.. No further spoiler!! watch it yourself okiess! ;p Haha.

15th Feb'09, the usual 6 met up again! We had not meet up for some time, so I was eager for Sunday to come..

Our plan was to try out for the STB's 2009 free tixs for Singapore Flyer promotion. After waiting for the freaking-long-shuttle bus, we were rewarded with this:

After our lunch, we headed to Marina Square to book for some funs. Before we had our "funs", we realized Ivan's potential for America's Next Top Model.

Then, we headed to Marina Square's Superbowl for some bowling actions!!

And, the gals dominated the laness! San won the first round, and Kai won the second round! Cool right?!?! As for me, I won first for both rounds (but counting from the bottom)! Ha.

So, 13th Feb'09, I met up with Weiwei, Guanguan and Siongsiong. And they organized a birthday celebration for me. We went to crystal jade for our dinner and had a night of lame talking and spying on Weiwei and Guanguan's friends at Haagen Dazs.

So, AFTH'09 is over! I am so happy and relieved that the event was a success! Nothing major went wrong. And, we were somewhere close to our 12k goal. Hooooray! I had a great time too, with the sculpturing balloons, and bursting them!! I miss balloon bursting now!=( Thanks for all the helps from all of you!

On 6th Feb'09, we started transferring the instruments and chairs on to the trunk, the stuffs would be brought to TYP Hub. It was tough for the guys as they had to use their muscles alot. While girls mostly donated our eye powers.

At 10pm on 6th Feb'09, we went to TYP Hub to do the unloading, decorating and preparing for the event area. It was the first time I hang around in TYP hub for so late sia. We did everything until 3+am before we headed to Van's place in Bishan to catch for a mini-short nap. 3 hours later, I was the last to wake up. Was going to be late again! Oppps, but we didn't!

My best sub-comers who had helped me a lot in figuring out how to twist the balloons and relieve my loads. Else, my fingers will lan hao ma.

Went to visit my great-grandmother yesterday. She has been bedridden for years since I was in secondary school. Having lost all her motor functions, she now depends on her daughter to feed her milk through a tube from her nose. She reminds me of my grandfather, whose lived similarly for his final years. Seriously, I miss my grandfather. Losing him was the first time I lose someone close. And, it wasn't pleasant. I guess that's probably why I hate death so much.

Alright, on a slightly brighter note, my great-grandmother has such goooood complexion! It puts mine to shame!! Her is so radiant, and (according to my sister) she doesn't seem to have any pore! We wondered why. During dinnertime, a realization stroke me. Her diet!! Perhaps her oil-less, perservative-less diet is the source of her Q Q and smooth complexion. Now, I am thinking what kinda diet I'm having.. Will chemicals and fats I have consumed corrode all my precious organs?? Or are they corroded? I can't bear to imagine!

This is pretty scarily. During my bus journey to JP, a middle age office lady came aboard and sat next to me. She let out a loud " humph, I am so itchy" as if she was a kid throwing tantrum, and scratched her calf and arms vigorously. A minutes later, she started cursing the "bloody mosquito" and continued her scratching.

I was stunned. For a moment, I was thinking "mmm, this is some kind of experiment to test for reactions to deviant behaviors?" I thought she would stop. I guess I would believe such behaviors would come from an office lady, let alone a mature woman. But, nope! Throughout the journey, she was scratching, whining and making loud comments as if they were meant for the ears of everyone onboard. The last straw was when she suddenly clapped her palms together to kill the mosquito and exclaimed: "I got you!" I sneaked a peep at her opened palms, but there wasn't anything lei. Dunoo what she is doing, seriously. She made me feel itchy all over too!

This got me wondering if someone doing something weird, would you stare at the person? Or turn away, pretending not to care but you are sneaking peeps?

Went for my first school concert in NTU (most likely my last also, lazy to queue sia) with my AFTH friends. We all got free tix since we are in the committee! Yeah!!

Singapore was Genie Zhou Wen Xuan's first stop for her tour. She is really pretty! But I didn't get to snap a picture of her. It was strictly prohibited for us to take picture inside. What a waste! Anyway, here are some pictures of (of course) ourselves.

The other day during the break of the New Year, I was in Marina Bay, watching the magnificant firework display. A thai lady gave me a high-five and grabbed my palm. She said it was a gesture of good luck in Thailand.

True enough. I have some lucks but I think her gesture gives me immense encouragement. I dunno why too. She stirred something in me.

A month is passing us soon. I've been flustering between AFTH, school work, friends, Family, CNY and tuition. I am tired, and coming close to drain. Nonetheless, I am satisfied. There are many new experiences. And, suprisingly, I find myself breaking out from my comfort zones. I hope for many more new experiences to come, and for the courage to explore the unexplored. Cheers to 2009!

I am here to update about my trip to fish farm on 28 December 2008. I am so satisfied with the trip! And, I want to go back again! Thanks to Shushan planned us a fabulous trip, and the rest of the girls for the companionship.

We went to Kenny Yap's fish farm. Wa seh! There were so many articles featured him, or his business and photos of him with other familiar people on the walls. Here are the evidences:

Too many le!! I just could finish snapping all. Haha. A famous Singaporean he is one!

Besides the many articles and photos, there are MANY DIFFERENT fishes, crabs, lobsters sia! Many are rare seen (at least to me).

I don't know about you but this specie, with its pout lips remind me of the World's Sexist Woman, Angelina Jolie.

The highlight of the day was the fish spa!! It was sensational! Though we were quite frightened to soak our feet initially.

There are even bigger ones! Omg. Qiumei and I totally lost it when we soaked our feet there. The nibbles from the bigger fishes are more obivious than the smaller ones (which passed off as a tickle). I could feel them tagging at my skin. After awhile, we started to get used to it. It's quite comfortable you know. I am missing the tickles!!

We all have been looking forward to this wedding ever since Kelly broke the news to us during September. Finally, the day had arrived! For me, this is the first time I attend a solemnization party. Also, it is very memorable to have do ROM on Christmas.

The solemnization was hold at Carlton hotel. Everything is so pretty. Kelly was stunningly gorgeous. The ambiance was romantic, and the food was delicious. I could tell that Kelly spent alot of efforts on this wedding. She sang a song for her hubby, and even got us both a wedding souvenir and Christmas gift.

I enjoyed my Christmas very much. Thanks to Kelly for inviting me. May the couple have a blissful marriage! For now, more photos:

[ South Ridge trail]

Met up with my Uni gals for a little exercise! We started from Vivo and set to "conquer" the Henderson Wave. Gosh. I was running short of breath after the first flight of stairs. Denise and Esther were at the front all the way. There was a huge gap between us! And, surprisingly, Van (the typical "see bench, want to sit") held strong without the benches! Haha.. This is my first time there, and I was afraid that the bridges could hold our weight and the pull of gravity. What's more, you can feel the breeze escaping through the gaps. People were jogging on the metal bridge. I wonder can the bridges within such pressures. Nonetheless, it is a great first time, especially with the dear gals!

[Dinner with Secondary School Girls ]

Wooo. This is a dinner long-over due! I haven't seen the girls for VERY LONG. I do occasionally meet up with Shuting, and bump into Peizhen and Lijun in NTU. But for Shushan and Qiumei, it is like "Oh My Gosh" kinda long. I believed I bumped into Shushan once when I was working (which is like 3 years ago already). As for Qiumei, it is "So near yet so far". She stayed opposite my block but I didn't manage to catch her shadow at all! So it will be around 4 to 5 years since I last seen her!

We went to New York, New York for our hearty dinner. Li jun, Shuting and I started our dinner earlier. We order the seafood platter. It is quite yummy. Under the encouragements of Lijun and Shuting, I managed to try a tiny winy piece of smoked salmon. It tasted okies like ham, but Lijun told me that the normal salmon doesn't taste like that though. I guess I won't try it again. Haha. Peizhen, Shushan and Qiumei came in later and order the meat platter. Woow, there were so much of meats! It was too much for them!

Qiumei and Shushan surprised us with Christmas gifts! Qiumei gave me a balloon My Melody cushion chair. It is so cute and pinky (that I don't bear to sit on it). Shushan got me a Snowman figurine storage. I feel so paiseh that I did not get them anything. Nonetheless, I was really elated that we got to gather and catch up!!

[Lunch with CPF friends ]

Finally get to meet up with my ex-colleagues from CPF. We went to Dragon Gate Restaurant for dim sum lunch buffet. I love dim sim buffet!! Haha. The food was okies but I prefer Red Star. Anyway, we had our gift exchange. The buffet for this was $15 to $20. So, the gifts for draw are quite functional, like this 4GB thumb drive from Laycheng, mini manual paper shredder from Shiqi. I got the Muji traveler pouch from Jack to store my pass sport and stuff when I travel. Wooow, I am so tempted to travel, especially after listening to their experiences in Taiwan.

Unfortunately, Francis was ill and couldn't join us. So, we couldn't catch up with him. There is good news, as.. someone is getting married! Haha. Another wedding to attend next December.

After our meeting, we headed down to TCC for a short tea break before we headed down to MINDS. We had our lucky draw gift exchange while we slipped our drinks. Our VP, Ziyang, was quite lucky but he was bullied by us. He got the cute Teddy bear thumb drive that won the hearts of everyone presented. By popular demand, he was asked to re-draw, and he got Van's gift which was perceived to be one of the better gifts. And, he had to re-draw again by fierce protest. In the end, he got this "bread" from Action City. Van (who happened to know that Jac and I got the same thing) got my gift. Haha. While I got Ziyang's gift: A voodoo doll key chain.

I love MINDS Cafe! And it is really depressing that they aren't offering discount for NTU students next year! Dots!!

This organization aims to integrate the physical challenged children into the mainstream. There will be concert and booths. So come down and help them realize their dreams! So the talk of the town for my west-sider friends has gotta be the very much anticipated opening of the extended Jurong Point (JP). My friend, Shuting said that before the extension, JP was crowded. After the extension, it is even more crowded. She went to Din Tai Fung for dinner on an weekend, the queue was horribly long. Even finding a table at Burger King took her half an hour. She went back on Monday morning to Din Tai Fung, and managed to get a table. BUT business was so good that they ran out of ingredients before their next restocking. So, some items were out of stock. Unbelievable!

San posted a link to the directory of the re-borned JP on her blog. I went and take a look since I haven't been there yet. Gosh! The list for restaurants alone is damn LONG la! West Coast Plaza also re-opened recently after revamp. Went there with Seow to browse. A lot of the shops there aren't opened for business yet, but most of those in business are restaurants. I notice that a lot of restaurants (like New York, New York, Bakerzin, Dian Xiao Er) which used to be found in town area are appearing in these kinda small malls. Wa!! Everyone is targetting our wallets through our stomach now.

Well, with Jurong Entertainment Centre and Clementi Central in the progress of revamping, I think the West Side will be super high in the near future! Haha. So so so.. we can plan gathering close to home soooon!

"Happieee!"

We had our first outing with the kids from AWWA on 05/12/08. It was enjoyable! Luckily it turned out okies without major hiccups. With the kids drawing on their kaleidoscope and running around , the morning basked in vibrancy. Some of us, programmers, drew xiao qiang on our hands to pledge our loyalty to the programmer porfolio. See! Look like modern version of Captain Planet! With our powers combine...

Met with Sabrina on 11/12/08. The date was to celebrate her birthday. She treated me to spa cos she already signed up for this pre-paid package. We went to this hydro-dunnowhat thing, where you sat in the bath tub and the strong water supply w0uld message you. Then, it was a full body message. For finale, we had a foot message. It was really relaxing! I want to thank the very generous Sab for the experience, the love and the pamper!!

On 12/12/08, I met with the ever-so-pretty mummy, Chaihong! So long never see her, she slims down alot. We went for dinner at this Lai Lai Kitchen in Bugis, and desert at Ah Chiew. I don't like the watermelon sago I had! Damn sad, I seriously regretted not trying their stream egg pudding. Sobs! Nonetheless, it is really comforting to talk to Rainbow. Somehow, I always feel that there will rainbow after the storm. I hope see the girls soon I am missing them already!

"Pray for the best."

Woke up this morning to more chaos around the world. With the Thailand protests unresolved, now a series of terror attacks in Mumbai sends chills across borders. My heart goes out to those who are traumatized and victimized by these incidents. Innocent vacations aboard turned out to be major emotion upheavals for many, or for some, their final days on Earth.

I used to be really scared to get out of Singapore. You know, all those stories about terrorist attacks and kipnappings frighten me! However, I come to feel that life and death are predestined. My mum was telling me about her friend's sister yesterday. She worked in a bank and occupied some managerial position. One of her two sons is a lawyer. Happy story, isn't it? Unfortunately, she was involved in an accident during her journey home from her OT. Now, she is in coma and survives on machines for 20 years.

Who could have known there they would involve in accident? Tourists had no idea that such episodes would unfold during their trips. This doesn't mean that we have to stop doing what we like or want to do. Haha, at least this is how I convince myself to be more courageous to travel around. Okies, I will do it soon!!

There is a pointer from the news: Register with the embassy, so at least they know they have to look out for you in time of crisis.

"I love snow globes!"

My first desire to collect snow globes surfaced about 3 years ago. I was obsessed with Star Wars when I was working. So I could go to the toy stores to look at Star Wars figurines or lightsabre replicas. This day, I saw a Cinderella snow globe, and it was stunning. From then on, I was hooked on snow globes.I love to shake them and watch the glitters settle. Somehow that moment is mesmerizing.

So far, I have 11 globes, and it is all thanks to those who know about my "hobby". Here are couple of my favorites:

This is my first globe, and it is from ST. She knew that I wanted to start a collection and got me one during my birthday. It is also nostalgic as it reminds me of our days in poly.

This is really pretty. The boy and girl can turn, and there is music. It must be expensive. However, it is the picture it paints in my mind that attracts me. When I watch the the figurines spin, I start to see myself staying in a farm, laying on the grass reading a nice book and surrounds by the comfortabing mother nature.

Now I am thinking, "If things could freeze and I could preserve them in globes, wouldn't life be peaceful?" These changing circumstances and emotions are making me tired. Sometimes, I really don't feel like caring anymore. I know if I stop to care, it means an end. How important is it to me now?

HS301, HS401 and French are spoiling my appetite these few days. Everything is so rushed.. Woke up this morning, feeling so robust (suddenly)! Though yesterday was so unproductive, I feel refreshed this morning.

Watched Wizard of Oz with Renita yesterday night. C'est super!! The singing, dancing and creative usage of prop! I love it! The musical cheers my soul!

Mmm, I REALLY want to go for another one directed by Hossan Leong! I admire his sense of humor! He is so hilarious.. Should I go? Should I go?? Should I slaugther my piggy bank?? mmmm.

As of now, 1.09pm on a Sunday afternoon, it is 11hours and 50mins before the final race of 2008 Formula One Season starts in Sao Paulo, Brazil. My stomach is doing drumrolls now! Who the hell will be the winner!?!

A week ago, I had this dream. I dreamt that Raikkonen, Massa, Hamilton and Alonso were vying for the podium positions in Brazil. At a turn, Massa and Hamilton bumped into each other. Massa went wide, but Hamilton crashed. He had to retire from the race. So the ultimate outcome?? First: Raikkonen, Second: Massa & Third: Alonso! My ideal scenario! Lol. So Raikkonen won the Grand Prix in Brazil 2008, Massa won the individual Championship, and Alonso won something! Haa..

Dream on! Haha.. I think Hamilton will win the Championship anyway.. It is an achievement for something of my age lo!! Nonetheless, I am excited to watch the race! The winner takes it all! Hope that Raikkonen and Alonso have a better season next year!

Of all the Birthday Celebrations!

According to Esther and Van's theory on the congestion of birthdays in August and September, the December is the month of "mating". The holidays, the poor weather, the romance impulsion, etc... I think you'll get the picture. The other day, AFTH was celebrating birthday for all the August and September babies. Almost 1/3 of us (28 members) were involved! HAha. So, there are lotsa friends who are celebrating their birthdays during these couple of months. Here are some pictures from some celebrations.

Esther's
Esther turned 21! She hosted a party and invited us to join in the fun. Unfortunatey, Van had her own party that day with her family and relatives. While, ASK was sick. The pool side party was sooo romantic that it suddenly felt like a wedding celebration than a birthday party. Nonetheless, tt was definitely relaxing with the dim lights reflecting from the water.

Weather was obedient until closing to the end of the party. It rained out without notification! All of us were struck in 2 pavilions. A few of us were trapped in a pavilion with a cat! The girls were screaming like mad. One of the guys commented that the cat should be afraid of us instead! Haha. To make the best out of the situation, we played some games. Fun day!

It was a terrible week for me.

Did the wrong thing .
Said the wrong thing.
Read the wrong thing.
Slept at the wrong time.
Took the wrong bus.

At least something might be going in the right direction.
Met up with someone on one of the days.
I could say someone who used to be close to my heart.
Not to say she is not now, but there is awkwardness now.
Recently, I've been thinking a lot about us, and I feel lonely to sense the distance between us.
In fact, I miss her and the times we shared.
Fortunately, she took the first step in asking me out.
And, I am touched.
I think there is awkwardness but I believe and hope that we would sort it out one day!

Met xxxxx to get a special gift for a special person. Shouldn't disclose more!

After which, we headed to Ikea for its famous hotdog! It is indeed yummmy! The hotdog is really chewy! Ikea is now carrying some Sweden products. It is interesting to browse through them! Suddenly, the impulse to go backpacking around Europe is back!

I miss going to Ikea; walking around the showcases, opening all the drawers and doors, touching the stuffs here and there! All the actions will follow by MEATBALLS!! Omg! I can smell them! The good old MEATBALLS from Ikea! I need to go back one day!

Finally met up with the CPF gangs. Turnout rate was quite poor. Only Francis, LayCheng, Weiling, PeiChoo and Shiqi turned up. But it's okies. I enjoyed listening to their chats. They are nice people! We went to Hotpot culture. Mmm. It is average, I guess. The highlight (the Fondue!) is okies la. Glutton Weiling and I (who happened to be chocolate avid) shared a pot. Man, we coated the our fruits, banana cake and marshmallow with so much chocolate that we had to refill our pot 10 mins later! Haha. NOw I regret being so greedy. I am feeling the heatiness. Cross my fingers! I don't want to be sick now! I have alot of assignments to rush!!

PeiChoo is 7months pregnant! She is going to be a proud mum of a boy! So exciting! Hopefully, we get to see her baby during the end of year. PeiChoo is still so tall and skinny. From the back, you couldn't tell she is pregnant. From the front, everything remains the same, except she has one big tummy, threatening to burst with life and hope. Now, I understand why they said woman is the prettiest during pregnancy. I couldn't stop looking at her. It is not her looks, rather her mother nature that she constantly emanate. Elle est belle!!

Francis drove us home. Along our journey, we passed through some F1 track. The ultra strong light shone along our path. For a moment, an imaginary scene of the exact race unveiled slowly in my mind. The zooming actions, the changing of tyres, the waving of different flags. I could smell the thick fumes and frictions. How I wish I will be able to drive. Okies, being a F1 racer is impossible for me. I would gladly settle for a normal driver! May I get to learn driving soon!

Okies. Sorry for being so longwinded today. Suddenly feel of hopes, though I felt deprived weeks ago. Now, I am deprived of movies! Seriously deprived!! I want to watch alot of show!! Mamma Mia, Mad about English, Bad Habits, Youth without Youth, and Hwa Pi! I should hope that I can find all the movies online (mmm. can i mention this?)

Language is seriously not my cup of tea.
I bet I can make a sequel to "Mad about English" with my weird French pronouications.
It is tough to memorize.
The conjugation is confusing.
The masculinity and femininity of words is messy.
The pronunciations sound the same.
My French tutor is Super strict.

BUT...

I think learning another language is fun.
The other we were wathing "Belle De Jour" for HS312.
I was so excited about being able to pick out a few words of French!
Cool!
If grade wasn't involved, I bet I would enjoy French lessons more. Haha.

Met with Ah Ju, Sheryln, LongQing and Ronald for a cozy night at Thai Express. We wanted to head to Essential Brew to C.sq (chill and chat). However, it was crowded. So we had to walk around to find somewhere. And we came cross this restaurant.

Serendipity, indeed! We didn't try the main course but the desserts were drooling. This is definitely a THUMB UP for couples. The ambiance is conducive for sparks to ignite, and you can dedicate love songs to express your love too!

Hi!

It's September, already? What happened to my calender? So fast??

Gotta said I am adjusting to the current pace.

Not doing a fabulous job, but coping.

So, I went to my sis's graduation on 28th August'08! Congrats to my sister for

graduating and getting her long overdue promotion!

While there, I starting giving more thoughts about my own convocation. It will be

another 2 more years to graduation! It might seem long but the day will come real

soon. Given the rate that we're progressing, assignment after assignment; reading

after reading; quiz after quiz. I guess we might be spending our last year rushing work,

rather than salvaging our final few moments in NTU.

So, we gotta enjoy now!!

Okies. I'm insane!! So much crazy stuffs happened and are happening. Currently, I am struggling to maintain my sanity. Haha. What exactly drive me nuts?!?

1) Schooool, readings and assignmentsssss.
I've officially leveled up since 4th August'08 to Year 3. It is OMG, OMG and OOOOOmmmmGGGOD! At the second week of school, we were bombarded with assignments and prospects of future assignments and even our anticipated FYP. Gosh, really pain in the ass. But, I guess this is one pain that I've to come to term with. I am aware of the others in similar plights. So I want do a shout out to them: Jia you, Jia you!! We will make it through the semester! All the best!

2) Olympics adrenalines
Michael Phelps drove me to verge with his sensational swims and his world records! The merman created history by earning himself 8 Golds, 7 world records and 1 Olympic record. Poor guy, maybe some people are just jealous of his achievements and complain to the Olympics committee. Now he has to do special dope test. Nonetheless, I am super positive that he is clean.

Ryan Lochte made me blush with his cute smiles. Hees. Though he is incomparable with Michael Phelps, he always swim conscientiously. I am glad that he won a gold and world record for his individual race. He definitely deserves it!!

Lin Dan stunned me with his mesmerizing skills. His smashes, jumps and tactics justified his ranking as World No. 1 in badminton. However, one of my friends said that she doesn't like him as he is arrogant and rude. Mmmm. But I feel it is undeniable that he has the skills. And that is worthy of some admirations and cheers.

Novak Djokovic knocked out by Rafael Nadal! Arugh, sad man! At least, he got a bronze. Okies, some consolation there.

The Singapore girls did a great job! The match with South Korean nearly stopped me heart!! For a moment, I thought they won't make it. I like Feng Tian Wei. I feel that she has immense potential. The sad thing is.. seems like everyone forgets about Tao Li now. Haha.

Lastly, hope that team USA will win the basketball gold! I really enjoy watching them play! AND HOPE THAT CHANNEL 5 WILL AIR THEIR MATCHES! Don't come out with funny stunt like the match where they were up against Spain! Pissed!!! Throughout the 1 hour highlight, they used it as backdrop! Make me more gian lei!! Why don't wana show it??? Dot dot dotssss!

3) Tuition
God sends Caleb Ong to test my patience sia. Haha. Always don't want to do my work! Always doesn't want to listen to me teach! Always wants to talk to me non-stop! Always wants me to give him answers! Always forgets that it is "Watch TV", not "See TV", despite my 101th remainders! I have no choice but to complain to his mother. Stupid boy! Make me feel guilty! I have to suppress my urge to punch him whenever he stands up and walks around.

Haha but but I love him!!! Such a cute boy! I guess kids are his age is like that. I remember last time my mother had a Saturday routine where she would play "treasure hunt" with us. She would dig around our room for homework that my sister would deliberately hide. Boy, and she was real good at it. Books and worksheet would start to fly around. So I need to be patient! Endure!

Something hilarious happened today. I was teaching him how to differentiate between "with", "will" and "want"; He always gets them mix up. After going through with him again and again, he still doesn't get it (cos he was paying attention anymore!). I was quite tired of trying to get his attention. When we came to the word "want", I told him "I want to kill you!". Then, he got damn high and even remembered the word! So in the end, Iwas forced to impart violent values. I taught him the following:

" I want to fight WITH you."
" I WILL punch you."
" I WANT to kill you."

And he remembers them all. Boys are just boys!

Okies, this is the rough sum-up of my unstable life these days. Going back to books. Before I sign off, I want to appeal for help. Yesterday, when I did my business and flushed the toilet bowl. While pulling the lever, I unclipped my hair. My 10 cm long plastic hairclip flew out of my butter fingers, headed straight into the toilet bowl while the system was flushing and disappeared from my sight when the flush was over. HOW?!!? I watched Nip/Tuck, a rat lookalike animal choked the sewerage system. Would my hair clip do the same?? I need to know. So... (sob) I can save up in case we need a plumber. Thanks in advance.
