Here is a belated entry on:

Denise's 21st Birthday party!

It was on 12th July at her home, and it was our first time there! Cool. Denise's house is so tidy. It really put mine to shame. Haha. Her mother cooks very well! The food was sooooo good, so was the cake. Yum yum. I am craving for CAKES now!!

The theme of the party is retro. So we had a fun time dressing up like we are from some old TCS drama. Haha. But I could love to see Denise's family and relatives dressing retroly too. Keke. Okies. Let pictures do the talking now.

Here's the pretty pretty birthday gal:

Okies. I'm insane!! So much crazy stuffs happened and are happening. Currently, I am struggling to maintain my sanity. Haha. What exactly drive me nuts?!?

1) Schooool, readings and assignmentsssss.
I've officially leveled up since 4th August'08 to Year 3. It is OMG, OMG and OOOOOmmmmGGGOD! At the second week of school, we were bombarded with assignments and prospects of future assignments and even our anticipated FYP. Gosh, really pain in the ass. But, I guess this is one pain that I've to come to term with. I am aware of the others in similar plights. So I want do a shout out to them: Jia you, Jia you!! We will make it through the semester! All the best!

2) Olympics adrenalines
Michael Phelps drove me to verge with his sensational swims and his world records! The merman created history by earning himself 8 Golds, 7 world records and 1 Olympic record. Poor guy, maybe some people are just jealous of his achievements and complain to the Olympics committee. Now he has to do special dope test. Nonetheless, I am super positive that he is clean.

Ryan Lochte made me blush with his cute smiles. Hees. Though he is incomparable with Michael Phelps, he always swim conscientiously. I am glad that he won a gold and world record for his individual race. He definitely deserves it!!

Lin Dan stunned me with his mesmerizing skills. His smashes, jumps and tactics justified his ranking as World No. 1 in badminton. However, one of my friends said that she doesn't like him as he is arrogant and rude. Mmmm. But I feel it is undeniable that he has the skills. And that is worthy of some admirations and cheers.

Novak Djokovic knocked out by Rafael Nadal! Arugh, sad man! At least, he got a bronze. Okies, some consolation there.

The Singapore girls did a great job! The match with South Korean nearly stopped me heart!! For a moment, I thought they won't make it. I like Feng Tian Wei. I feel that she has immense potential. The sad thing is.. seems like everyone forgets about Tao Li now. Haha.

Lastly, hope that team USA will win the basketball gold! I really enjoy watching them play! AND HOPE THAT CHANNEL 5 WILL AIR THEIR MATCHES! Don't come out with funny stunt like the match where they were up against Spain! Pissed!!! Throughout the 1 hour highlight, they used it as backdrop! Make me more gian lei!! Why don't wana show it??? Dot dot dotssss!

3) Tuition

God sends Caleb Ong to test my patience sia. Haha. Always don't want to do my work! Always doesn't want to listen to me teach! Always wants to talk to me non-stop! Always wants me to give him answers! Always forgets that it is "Watch TV", not "See TV", despite my 101th remainders! I have no choice but to complain to his mother. Stupid boy! Make me feel guilty! I have to suppress my urge to punch him whenever he stands up and walks around.

Haha but but I love him!!! Such a cute boy! I guess kids are his age is like that. I remember last time my mother had a Saturday routine where she would play "treasure hunt" with us. She would dig around our room for homework that my sister would deliberately hide. Boy, and she was real good at it. Books and worksheet would start to fly around. So I need to be patient! Endure!

Something hilarious happened today. I was teaching him how to differentiate between "with", "will" and "want"; He always gets them mix up. After going through with him again and again, he still doesn't get it (cos he was paying attention anymore!). I was quite tired of trying to get his attention. When we came to the word "want", I told him "I want to kill you!". Then, he got damn high and even remembered the word! So in the end, Iwas forced to impart violent values. I taught him the following:

" I want to fight WITH you."
" I WILL punch you."
" I WANT to kill you."

And he remembers them all.
Boys are just boys!

Okies, this is the rough sum-up of my unstable life these days. Going back to books. Before I sign off, I want to appeal for help. Yesterday, when I did my business and flushed the toilet bowl. While pulling the lever, I unclipped my hair. My 10 cm long plastic hairclip flew out of my butter fingers, headed straight into the toilet bowl while the system was flushing and disappeared from my sight when the flush was over. HOW?!!? I watched Nip/Tuck, a rat lookalike animal choked the sewerage system. Would my hair clip do the same?? I need to know. So... (sob) I can save up in case we need a plumber. Thanks in advance.

It has been awhile since I last checked out my friends' blogs. Waoowawaaaooo. There're plenty of updates. Of pictures from overseas trips, of exciting plans and of interesting thoughts.. Time to update mine! Unlike most of my peeps, I didn't go overseas during the vacation. Just random walks around the good old island.

-Singapore Garden Festival Exhibition @ Suntec-

Met the Usual 6 (minus Ah Seow who was rushing for his assignment) for the exhibition. Before we met the others, Kai and I met up first. Kai had to meet this unreasonable customer to pass her compensation vouchers so she reached earlier. The two of us went to Cottage for fondue since I was longing to try it.The fondue was okies. I love the Q-ness of the wafer and they have free flow of chocolate! But but.. they only have bananas and green apples. Maybe more variety of fruits would be better. The staff were quite friendly. They initiated small talks and urged us to bring our friends back. Haaa.

- As I am typing, I crave for it again!

Okies, some pictures from the exhibition. Caution, they are blur bcos I used my phone to take.

[My favorites]

My favorite flower!! I don't receive daisy often. Only once, in fact. This guy from class called me afew nights from V-day, and asked for my favorite flower. "Daisy", I told him. On V-day, I received a teddy bear holding a small bouquet of daisy. It was really swweeet, I remembered.

I dream of this fantasy wedding; my ideal wedding. It will be on the beach. The groom will dress in white shirt and bermuda, and the bride in white sun dress. No footwear, especially heels (I hate heels! In my opinion, it resembles traditional foot binding). So their bare feet will leave footprints of their love on the sands. There will be lotsa daisy surrounding the couple. The sea will sing their songs of happily ever after. Perfect!

This piece is one of my favorite. The life-sized flowers remained me of a book that my mum brought for us when we were in primary school: Thumbelina. The story is about this tiny girl "born" from flowers. I feel like a little girl too, wandering amidst the flower too!

The photo does not do justice but this piece is spectacular! It is a simple piece but the designers smartly manipulated water and light to create the underwater atmosphere. Creative man!

-Chinatown-

Recent discussions about overseas trips with Sister, the girls in school, ZZ, Sherlyn and AJ excite me. I can't wait to explore the other lands. Before I venture overseas, I wish to explore our island! So, a big thank to Sheryln and AJ for their wonderful companion!

Chinatown has so many pretty shop houses. They remind me of the current state of Singapore: the fusion of East and West. It is a pity that those super old shop houses that we went to during our Secondary school excursion are gone. You know, those kinda shop where there is no air con and sufficient lighting. Shelves are overcrowded with products. And the uncle would pull on a tin can pulley to dump the notes and shillings.

We went to this dim sum restaurant called Red Star for our lunch! We went in by the back door, and were quite stunned. Cos the backend was quite run down. When we went into the dinning area, we were mysteriously transported to Hong Kong's dim sum restaurant. It is everything that I imagine how a dim sum restaurant would be like in HK. Trolleys were stacked with dim sum of all variety. And, the staffs pushed them around asking us in canto or mandarin if we wanted any from their trolleys. Because of our adrenaline, we ordered 10 dishes of food in ago and finished them in only 20 mins. That is a record for me! Haha.

After walking around in the hot weather, we went for some desert at the hawker centre. The one that my parents always brought us for dinner after our chinese new year shopping! Nostalgia.

After spending some talking walking around, Sheryln had to leave some event by the school. So AJ and I headed to Science Centre. Over there, we caught 2 documentary shows at the omnitheatre. For dinner, we went to Zingdo (some korean fast food) for dinner. It is super orange there! I feel like I am a pumpkin watching to be craving for Halloween. It is so orangey that I think the shop cannot play Rain's songs.

A really fun day! All the best for Sheryln who is staring work tml! And to Aj too! Hope that things at work progress smoothly! Have another outing of sort again ya!=)
